If you are
interested in Auditioning…
Auditioning is easy. First, simply complete the
Audition Application Form.
Our Music Director will contact you to schedule an audition. Singers should
be prepared to sing one piece of music and should bring an extra copy
for the pianist. Accompaniment will be provided. You may be asked to sight
read and vocalize. Most auditions take about 15 minutes.
The upcoming season includes the
choir returning to the lakefront town of Lexington, Michigan for the
Lexington Bach Festival; the return of their holiday hit Too Hot To
Handel at the Detroit Opera House in December and Chicago’s
Auditorium Theatre in January; the Michigan premiere of Beatitude
Mass: A Mass for the Homeless, in Detroit and A Night at the
Theatre, featuring music from Opera to Broadway in Detroit.
Rackham Symphony Choir is a
membership, dues paying group that rehearses weekly for
approximately 9 months a year in preparation for three to four
presentations each season. Qualified high school students and other
members may qualify to receive a full scholarship for their dues.
